There's nothing like a bit of friendly competition to bring us together.Whether it's finding out the best hoppy homebrew, who can eat the most wings, racing remote control boats in a pub, or debating what's better: East vs West Coast (IPA).

If you're a homebrewer, or just love hoppy beer from one of Sydney's finest then check out the Akasha and Bar Josephine Homebrew Hustle. Homebrewers can enter their best, hoppiest beer, to be judged by the crews from both venues. Then on Tue, May 18, the winner will be announced, and invited to fly up to Akasha to brew on its kit. On the night the Akasha team will be on hand for a tap takeover. Details here.

If you don't make hoppy beer, but have opinions on it, then the Great IPA Debate is for you. Join Fixation, Two Birds, Hawkers, Akasha, Range, and Hop Nation as they battle out in a debate to find out which style is better: East vs West. Plus BBQ from Bluebonnet BBQ on the night. If you're less about hops, but into wings, then check out the Wingin' It, wing eating comp at Fizz and Hop. Although, there'll be hops there too.

Finally, Sailors Grave is back at The Cherry Tree Hotel for the Sailors Grave Regatta, featuring mini-games and the annual remote controlled boat race. Cherry Tree is also the host of Pint of Origin: Regional Victoria for the week. Celebrating the best of our state's brewers, outside of the big city.

There are a stack more events that'll get you challenging your mates, beating randoms in table tennis, or watching as two great brewers will battle it out; beer for beer. Check out the full program those and more.
